My N64p power setup

I still haven't figured out how to charge the batteries while the system is on so this is my way of getting around that, just wanna get someone to verify that this is right (I'm not sure if I got the diode the right way around but I want power from the battery to be able to reach the n64 and everything but I dont want the ac adapter to be able to reach the battery). If this is right does anyone know where I can get a 7.4v regulator and what type of diode I should use?

The diodes the wrong way round as far as I can see and the power button should be placed just before the 7.2V regulator if you want it to work. On another note do you know that diodes don't only regulate the direction of current, they will also have a voltage drop across them. Just use a normal one and it will be as little as 0.7V

as far as I can see the wall power port is i the right place. I didnt know that there would be a drop in voltage though, may need to get a battery stronger then 7.4v
