"Flattening" heat sinks?

how would you go about doing this without killing your hands with pliers? :lol:

A vise to hold it in place, bend the fins a little with pliers, then a hammer.

Vise and vise grips/locking pliers. Only problem is the vise grips might be too big to fit between the fins...
