DVD monitors?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

DVD monitors?

Post by Falco »

I haven't found much about them on here, but will DVD player screens work?

Example: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_206 ... lack-.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is just a screen, no built in disk player, and it has RCA input. However, I've been told that screens like these depend on a control board like an actual DVD player, and would need all the components in working order for it to be used as a display. Is this true, or can I use it as a direct display like a gaming screen?

If it has rca inputs and is just a regular flip down screen it will work fine.

That's what I'm expecting, that it will work hasslefree, but I'm also afraid of what Designer noob said, that it will require the motherboard or depend on the car's systems.

No flipdown screens like that one are meant to be used with an external video source. So a game system or dvd player etc will plug into it and work just fine.
