hey guys,
as christmas is approaching I am looking to get a new headset for my xbox 360. my current setup is as follows:
Xbox 360 to 25" LCD Monitor via HDMI
Wireless Controller with Chatpad attachment (Chatpad is broken so mic plug dosent work for some reason)
The usual behind-the-ear wireless attachment
What I would like is a high quality (preferably wireless) headset that will have an over-the-head band that covers the ears with a mic that can play both game audio and xbox live chatter. Now I know the HDMI connection throws a wrench into the mix which is why I am posting. Any suggestions? Thanks

A truly wise man can entertain a thought without accepting it. A fool cannot withhold past judgments but instead closes his mine to new possibilities. Someone who wants to innovate simply needs to forget what everyone says isn't possible.
Re: Xbox 360 Headset
Right I looked at the turtle and the other one here... however. because my audio is routed out of my xbox to my LCD monitor via HDMI, how dose the audio get routed into the headset for the game? Remember I want to hear both the game and chat audio through my headset simultaneously. Perhaps someone more versed in this than myself can explain this to me. Thanks
If it connects via USB will that solve the issue?

You need the dongle that comes with this. It allows you to use the optical audio out and connect that to the headphones. You may also be able to use a normal AV cable to achieve the same functionality.

Re: Xbox 360 Headset
I do not have an Xbox 360 elite, I have an arcade version. Therefore I do not have an optical output, and I am not using the standard AV out port. I am using the additional HDMI out both audio and video. So how do I get an HDMI audio output to mix with the chat channel

Re: Xbox 360 Headset
The easy answer is that you can't. Unless your TV has an audio output, then you can connect that to the headphones.
Also, any Xbox can do optical audio out, you would just need to buy or build the right adapter. That seems to be your best option.

Thats the answer I was expecting... hoping not to see it, but expecting that was the answer.
Now my LCD does indeed have a headphone out jack. However, I want to heat the xbox live chat and the game audio in one headset without a cables running everywhere, but that seems to be the only route.

Re: Xbox 360 Headset
If you want both game and voice on the same headset, something is going to need to be connected to the Xbox and something to the controller. The Turtle Beach Earforce wireless headphones are the best solutions I've found and have the least wires.
