my idea for external controller ports/av out

Don't know if anyone has thought of this before but this is my idea. I want to install an ethernet port to the system (which has 8 pins). The first pin goes to 3.3v, the next 4 go to the 4 data lines for the four controllers and the last three go to video, audio right and audio left. Then I'll just mod an ethernet cable all four controller ports will be wired up the the same 3.3v line, they each get their own data line and I'll just put a piece of metal on the side of the controller port for the third pin on the port to ground it. Then solder video and audio to the remaining three pins.

yea sort of like that except I don't know why there is a ground pin. all you need for ground is some metal right? with the LOB64 I don't know how the controller ports would get 3.3v. From what I can see only the built in controller would get voltage.

The ground is necessary as all signals need some form of a reference, it's not just for shielding. Because there is no other provision for a ground with a standard cat5 cable, it's necessary to use one of the pins on the connector. With the LOB64 each controller gets power from it's own portable. If you're trying to power individual controllers from the same console, then yes, you do need 3.3V.
