Gameboy color mods?

Post by Vedran »

Anyone know of any gameboy-color mods? After I organize all my electronic stuff tonight, I want to open up my GBC. Anyone know of any mods or anything I can do for practice/learning.
Thanks guys,

You could change the led or put it in a different case but other wise it's pretty limited for mods.

why not put a GBA sp in a XBOX controller. the board is smaller and the screen is back lit.

which would you rather risk breaking gamer2, a gba sp, or a gb color? I know I'd rather risk the gb color if I was just beginning my understanding and modding of electronics.

Yeah, I agree. Besides.. I don't have an SP :P
I found that the screen is a bit bigger than that circle in the middle of the controller, but thats okay.

well im doing it to a pocket soon so this is what i have planed.
8 wihte flat leds and a reflective backing go behind the screen and under the ribons conecting them to the screen. then i conect them to the battrys with the proper resester and a switch. i might replace the battrys with dubble As cus the power consumption

also the back of the GBPs screen has a sticker on it ill have to remove that and put a thin peace of fogy plactic over it..

Why 8 LEDs? Ben only uses two when modding the tv screen and its the same size (well its bigger by .3 inches).

they're not LEDs its a blue EL sheet. EL means Electro Luminescent, which uses very little energy. The same stuff found in Indaglow watches.
