GBO and Pocket question

Post by Gunk »

Can a Gameboy Pocket screen be used inside a GBO? Just a simple plug and play? They both sport similar tech, just different color monochrome. GBO is yellowish/green Pocket is true grey.

Any thoughts? Anyone willing to try?

Well, it's not a direct swap; the ribbon cable on a GBC screen is larger than a GBP's.

It could be an interesting switch, but I don't know why you'd want to do it.

not GBC...Gameboy Pocket, or referred to as MGB sometimes. The Pocket screen and original gameboy screen are same tech.

They are roughly the same tech, but you cannot plug and play. Mainly because the DMG screen has no plug, it is soldered to the motherboard.

In theory, with a lot of work, it could be done. But it would be easier to relocate the guts of a GBP into the DMG.
