Oh yeah! I got a 21" CRT monitor! LCD vs CRT fight!
My IT friend grabbed it for me, was "broken" but by replacing a resistor with a lower value one and adding a potentiometer in series with it the brightness/black levels go back to normal and WHAM it works! A $2.50 21" monitor!
How did I LIVE without this? My 19-er was OK I guess but this is the BOMB! I can run 1600x1200 easy... my God, look how much stuff I can see in Illustrator at one time! Ah...............................
As most of you probably don't know I am a CRT guy when it comes to computer monitors (LCD's are good for portables though)
Alright, I'll stop, I'm usually not one to brag (about something I own but did not build) but man this is nice! I have to turn my head to look at corners of the screen!
What say you all on CRT vs LCD?

I've got a 21" Dell Trinitron screen in the garage. My mom didn't like the PC hooked up on a banquet table in the dining room, so we got a 17" LCD and put it and the PC in an armoire of sorts. I wish I could still use that thing...
What's even cooler is a multimedia projector (The things usually used to throw PowerPoint presentations onto a wall). I used it to play 2600 and GBA games on the living room wall a couple times. (Pitfall! 70" diagonal!
)
Could always change this to a poll... LCD vs. CRT!

I dont care between the two, whatever has a bigger diagonal, I suppose, thats all that matters.

CRTs are Ok for me, My computer doesn't go anywhere.
I could use a new monitor, or my second monitor could work.
I never liked LCDs. Everything looked too dark or too light.
It became hard to play some of my games on my freind's LCD after things went fast. Gunbound was the only game that looked good on it.
My CRT barely fits on my desk, but I'm making a desk to fix that.

I looove my 17" LCD. If I could choose between an LCD and a CRT at any size, it would be LCD. The one problem I have with LCDs is that it doesn't show scrolling text well. eh, I learn to live with it

No... The problem with LCD screens as of now, is what's called "Ghosting", which is what Sponge mentioned. It's occurs when objects on the screen are in motion, causing a screen blur wherever the motion is occuring. I've experienced this while gaming on my laptop, and some of the newer Radeons (X600, X800) have "anti-ghosting" technology in them to HELP correct the problem in games, however it doesn't fix the problem completely. I haven't looked into it a whole lot but I think it has a lot to do with an LCD monitors refresh rate capabilities.
But then again, it just depends on what you want to use your computer for.
Everyday Consumer - LCD is fine.
Gamer who intends to play any First Person Shooter - CRT is a MUST.

Although I use a CRT I like LCD much more. For one, I'm likely taking in a lot of radiation that the tube puts out not to mention under windows the screen only gets brighter after like 12 hours of contiuoues running.
If I could afford to get an LCD I would but at the moment CRT is my only why.
And Ben I know how big that 21" is my Dad has one that can pull higher resolutions, and its rediculously big. Congrates on the big find.
