What should be the output voltage for the retro duo's AC adaptor? because mine says 18v. which I think is retardedly high, especially since on the back of the unit it says 5v. And as you might imagine when I plug the retro duo into the 18v line and turn it on all it gives me is some black-gray horizontal lines and a loud buzzing noise.
What to do, what to do?

Yeah, I thought as much. I guess the guy that sold it to me just gave me the wrong adapter. I was going to portablize it anyways, so I guess it doesn't matter too much

Yeah... so I think I may have fried it... I don't really have any other power source to try with it other than like, 4 AAs. What can I do to test/fix this thing? I don't want to have wasted more money...

to test it, hook up a 7805 regulator to it and run a 7.2-12v power supply to the regulator.
If it's fried then it can't be fixed.
