PS2 Laptop Guide

Hey all,

I am looking at turning my old PS2 into a laptop so i can have it at school. I was wondering if anyone as done an in depth guide on how to turn the PS2 into a laptop. If so could you please link it here. If not would you mind doing a general one here. The PS2 is the original, not the slim*just for reference*

I created one with an unmodded 8.4 inch screen and over 10 hours of battery life, so ask away (Im not gonna make a guide, because it was for the first contest, and I have taken it apart)

Hey all,

I aspire to make a PS2 Laptop too (so I can take it to school aswell ) I have a slim, unlike xDairyu.
I have made my blue prints and I know how to do a lot of the modding, except connecting a computer monitor to the PS2.
So I was jut wondering if there was some form of av - vga cable that I could use to connect the ps2 to the monitor. Also, what is the average depth of a monitor and it's motherboard, I am going to use a 15" monitor if that matters.. Also, how do I connect the the yellow plug of the av cord to speakers, or will I have to get a monitor with inbuilt speakers. That's all for now.

15" Monitors are usually very thick.
If you are using a ps2 slim you would need a much lighter monitor.

Thanks for the link. 3 things though: how do you connect it to the PS2, what is the power supply, and is it delivered to Melbourne, Australia?
I also found what I want to be my case (Click Here), It is very durable an should be able to fit all the components. It also has a foam middle which will help the components together. My brother got one from my grandma, but he won't let me have it so I will have to search around for another one. I think I saw one in a near shopping market though...

Does anybody have the answeres to these questions? Also what is the input power and input video of the screen angelfraster gave a link to, but I still think it is too small, I would like a bigger screen for playing perposes, but I'm still not decided.

May I suggest a PS2 screen? Attaches at the back of the unit. 8 inches. Like this one. This takes the same voltage the PS2 takes.


Just add a 12V laptop battery then my dual regulator to drop it to 8.5V and you have a nice easy portable to play on.

Yeah, that looks good, but I still want a bigger screen, it's too small I think, I need a screen about 10-15" big, preferably 15"..
do they make those?

why dont u find a cheap portable dvd player on kijiji or craiglist or something that has audio/video input? a lot are around 10 inches.
