yeah, I run 98 because it's compatible with all the games and software I run. If I didn't play so many dos or windows only games I'd have been using linux a long time ago. I love the multiple desktops feature that most linux distros have quite a bit

You know there is a program that aloues you to elmulate any OS on your computer. Cant remember what the program is but that would be the solution to all our problems. Techtv's Screensavers took a look at it and said that even 98 ran without crashing or noticable instablities.

Compatibility mode also works in most cases. There's a patch out that lets you play the original C&C on 2000 and XP.

im kinda partial to pre-milenium Microsoft OSs after 3.1 becouse i learned computers on a 95.

There's something along the liens of compatibility mode if you right click on the shortcut for command on conquer. I set it to 98, and the game ran fine. Sure, it was red alert two, but the point is that it works just fine.

i just added up the amount for the parts for the XBOXpc nad it equals over $500 so forget that. and my friend is selling his Xbox to me for $20 and it is in bad pysical condition so i figured put it in the case.

$500? Are you looking at ITX boards (possible legacy free). The matherboards they use have video and audio cards intagrated most of the time and I see them for 200-300 TOPS! I also suggest getting a legacy free mobo because the Xbox's mobo was one and do you really want to drill and cut holes in the back of the Xbox case?

Bought parts for a mini-itx system myself recently. Nice everything but no gaming system. Cost me $550, and that's for just mobo, RAM, hdd, dvd, power, and case.

Well the thing is putting a PC in and Xbox you have a case, ITX power supplies are what 50-70, didnt you mobo come with ram or did you have to buy it? Also there is a DVD-rom and HDD (not big but is almost free) that should be able to cut the cost down.
