Want to replace DS lite Battery

Post by Diminuendo »

mine doesn't hold a full charge so i need a new one. I'd be just as happy to get a 3 dollar ebay one but I want to check if thats a good idea. Also if it's cheap enough I'd like one with a higher mAh (that increases battery life right?).

Thanks in advance for any advice.

the more mAH the more battery life. If your getting a 3rd party battery, try get one with at least as much as the battery you currently have installed.

I was mainly asking cuz I read something palmer said about the ones that claim they have 1800mAh or more often have only 1200mAh. I see a couple of 2000mAh ebay ones that I'd be happy to use if they were legit.

Yay! Someone remembered what I said! :P

It is impossible to cram 2000mah into the space that is normally 1000-1200mah. Remember, Nintendo is smart. If they could have double power batteries for only $3, then they would do it. ;) You are at best going to get VERY slightly better than normal "new" battery life with a new 3rd party one.

Just buy a legit spec one, those ones are probably not lying.

If it is 1000mah, it is real. If it is 1200mah, it may be real. Anything over that, and they are just lying.

And the DSi has a smaller battery because it had to fit in the thinner case. My point was not that they are unable to make a larger battery, it is that they are going to cram as much power into the given battery as they can, and it is unlikely that some ripoff chinese factory can beat them at that. :)
