My sis has a fairly older color CRT, not with knobs! I can't recall the brand off the top of my head at the moment, but I just wanted to ask around and see if anybody has experience with this.
Evidently it works perfectly fine from time to time, but the main issue is that after 30 minutes or so of it being on the picture goes to black and white.... Would anybody know where these problems may originate(Tube/Electron Gun/Driver Board/Flyback)?Would anybody know if this issue could fixable with out a replacing the whole TV?
I think there may still be some TV/Repair shops around in my area.

Re: TV (CRT) Issue
A wild guess: I think the composite decoder has been damaged/worn out in such a way that it is sensitive to heat and starts to malfunction when the it has been warmed up for a certain period of time. Or a similar problem with some other component in the chrominance signal chain. It's just a guess though, and I don't have experience to tell whether it's actually correct.

Better than nothing
I might force her into have it looked at.......or change her mind into giving it to me so I don't have to spend big bucks on an arcade monitor and get myself like a 40 dollar RGB to Composite Video converter.
