Ok, i've already seen plenty of bots creating advertisement threads......and i've reported them all. I've seen quiet a few in one day as well, which is redicilous if you ask me.

I suggest that we make a security addition to the forum when creating threads that many sites use already. When it asks you to type in the characters that you see in the box, and they look all jumbled or somewhat unreadable. That way we ensure there is no unecessary threads lurking around about a prada bag in the atari hacker forums......

although this would help stop spammers don't you think it would be kinda a pain to have to type Captcha every thime you want to post soemthing?

If we did something like that, it would be best to have it for every post, not just new threads. Most of the spambots post in existing threads, which is very annoying, because I can instantly tell that a thread titled "prada handbags" is spam.
What we need is better security at registration. Several people have the ability to make the changes, but no one wants to risk screwing something up. So for now, just report spam, especially if its posted in an existing thread.

This. It won't really do any good to put captchas on the new post page if the spambots are already defeating them when they register. (And naturally they won't do any good against places that use humans to get the registration through for the script.) That would just make posting annoying, especially for newcomers who are here to ask questions, not to sell us bootleg Cialis.

What we need is to add our old 1+1 box and ReCaptcha to the signup page. Like vskid said, there are a few people with FTP access to the server who could make the changes, however they seem reluctant to do it or are busy.

It would be nice if there was a feedback scoring system for users. Example: if they're not fairly established as a trusted poster by other users, they'd need to do the captcha or be put up for review by mods.

idk.....I'm kinda reluctant to the feedback idea only because it could get out of hand if you know what I mean. I think there are simpler ways to fix this problem...that have already been mentioned above.
