PSP Screen Hacking

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PSP Screen Hacking

Post by Ampersand »

I was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of a start on hacking my PSP screen. I'm hoping to mod it to accept Analog input ( from an SNES ).

This is one of those things that, if you have to ask, you probably can't do it.

As far as I know it's not possible.

actually, it is possible, if you can coax 8 bit digital rgb out of your snes, with all the sync lines split. (afaik) just go with a psone screen, or a dx screen, or any of the aeicomp ones. much cheaper.

Alright. I just figured the PSP screen would be nice, and I happened to have a broken PSP on hand. I'll probably go with a PS2 screen, as I saw them recently on a website for a shockingly low $25, I believe.

Sorry for the double post, but if it wasn't entirely hard or implausible to use PSP screens regularly for hacking, they'd be a pretty damn good deal.

It's ENTIRELY hard and VERY implausible.

Even if it wasn't, it's widescreen. That'll stretch out all your games.
