Restitors and other products

HI,
I'm comming from Germany and I wanne make a Portable like in the book of BenHeck, and I am just finding 220-ohm resistors with 0.5W , at Radio Shack it are 1/2W , is that important ? general, is the Watt number important ?(for the Video Signal)
Transitors, what is important? cause I get them not fromRadio Shack, just from conrad.de and I find there Resitors, but which requirements are Important!????(Also for the Video Signal)

0.5 and 1/2 are the same number

So yeah those parts would be the same.

The watt rating describes how much current it takes to destroy the resistor, it gives the upper limit on how much power the resistor can absorb. The watt rating on small (information) signals is not usually that important, because the amount of power present is less than 1/8W.

Transistors, its important to know the kind of transistor (BJT, MOSFET, JFET), although you are probably using BJT transistors for circuits dealing with video. Then the polarity is also important, in your case the choice is between NPN and PNP. If you get the wrong one it will never work. Other than that something like a 'general purpose' 2N2222 or something is acceptable.
