Controller voltage

Umm it says in ben's book that the hand made controllers need +5 volts. Can I get that also from the nes and connect it there? Also, for the ground of that, do I connect the cable to the nes's groung also?

Ok thanks for the help. Or do the controllers get the power from the white cable that connects to the board? Because the white cable says +5 volts.
