Retro Duo woes.

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Retro Duo woes.

Post by argelfraster »

I have a retro duo with the NES side cut off.
The cart slot on the retro duo was really bad, so i replaced it with a SNES original cart slot (its relocated)
I connected the NES part back up to see if my cart slot relocation worked.
I hooked everything up; only sound came, with a low/loud undertone.
So i connected it via S-video, i got the sound again (crappy) and i got picture.
The pictures colors were dimmed down, and it was a bit choppy.
Why?

I haven't a clue why you would be having problems unless you wired up something incorrectly, which I'm not really able to help with unless I can see it. If you're using a Retro Duo, just try disconnecting the NES portion and test the SNES side of it. Sorry, but that's all I can think of trying.

If i connected something wrong, wouldn't there be no video output whatsoever?
The NES side cannot be disconnected because i dont have a screen that accepts S-video (besides my TV) and for it to work on a TV i need the NES side.

What? The SNES side can output composite video - just use that.

It doesn't output composite though. (it can, but mine wont)
It only outputs a crappy looking s-video.
