any way of hacking one of these? it plays video and has built in sound so i was just wondering

Probably not as most of them use a digital input feed to the LCD driver board. Unless someone is a really hardcore skilled modder then I highly doubt anyone could make it useful for portablizing. Even if you did it might be just the same as using a portable DVD player.....a component board that you can not separate from the driver board...which makes it take up more space.

Don't worry about them. They are usually pretty low quality anyway.

No, like MPEGs, or digital videos over an SD card; there is no RCA in.
