I got redirected 3 times to a fake warning that my computer is threatened with viruses.
And then the redirections kind of all of a sudden stopped. Haven't had one since.

Well, it only happened for a bit. (For me at least).
I'm running Firefox, but I don't think it's browser based.
e.g. Sites redirect for legitimate purposes (such as a new URL). Thus redirection wouldn't be turned off in browsers because as much as it hurts it helps as well.
(It also means the page would never update either, which means you would have to do it yourself.

I had flashblock, but I find it annoying that it blocks everything related to flash, I mean it blocking the adds is cool, but when it blocks primary parts of sites and re-arranges everything in weird boxes it annoys me.
