Fixed ipod nano submerged in coke... blank screen

Post by stuntpenguin007 »

Well I finally got my computer to recognize it. I submerged it in hot water for half an hour, used a pin to clean all contacts, went after it with a blow dryer for a long time, and let it sit.

I had forgotten I was leaving it out to air dry and a month later (today) I found it and decided to try it out. It is now recognized by my computer, but the screen stays blank. Right now I'm just happy it works and I'd be ok using the shuffle feature until I eventually get a new one.

But since I'm trying to find my way to the shuffle feature blindly, I'm going to need some help. I can hear it clicking through the options but I don't really know what to click on. It's an ipod nano 2g so if someone wouldn't mind giving me directions like 5 clicks up 3 clicks down, that would be extremely helpful.

Right now I think its on a language selection screen because I reinstalled the firmware... but I guess I could just click any of the options as it wouldn't really matter.

-wow do I feel stupid for just making this thread, I just found the shuffle button, oh well.

My nano 2G doesn't scroll to the top again after it hist the bottom of a menu (not sure if yours is different), but if it's been recently soft reset or plugged into iTunes, "Shuffle Songs" is the bottom on the main menu (clockwise until it stops). If there's supposed to be a "now playing" selection there (you've been using it) it's second form the bottom.

Do you have the clicker turned on? That helps.
