Question about Cartridge slot and EXP. slot and analog stick

Post by ninjamonkey »

SO I just started a n64 mod. What I am doing is relocating the cartridge slot, adding some LEDS and making a custom case. I am having trouble removing the expansion slot on the bottom completely. I know you have to desolder the tops of the exp slot pins and a pull it off. but the hasn't worked for me. Any suggestions?

Also, I am making a custom controller mod. I am going to add the gamecube analog stick and c stick to an N64 controller. I think I know how to add the analog stick but not so sure if its right. And I dont have an idea of how to add the c stick to it. Can someone help?

1- pliers.....grab twist and pull

2- to use a ps2 type analog stick yo'll need to buy a 3rd party controller, as for the c buttons as c stick search up for sifuf's schematic

Thanks, but I saw that already. The two wires that end with two lines. Are those attached to anything?

One part of the resistor goes to the middle pin of the C-stick and the other goes to ground.

You'll want to connect it to ground on the controller board.
You can easily identify ground by looking at the controller, you see that two traces come out of every button, one of these traces connects to the rest of the other buttons; thats ground.

Only thing is would I attach wires from the pins on the c analog stick to the contacts on the controller board? how would I go about attaching the regular analog stick?
