AV Out Question?

Post by petesdragon »

When I hook up my ps1p to av out on the tv it looks great. But when i hook it up to the 9v charger it has white lines throughout the tv screen, you can still see the video but i wont it to look perfect on a tv screen when its charging, is there some way to charge it and play using the video out or will you always have these lines?

thank you for any help.

ps: i know that the lines are from too much voltage, but it wont charge if you hook it up a 7.5v charger. Sorry if im wrong.

First, You can't charge a portable while running the system unless the charger's output is greater than the systems intake. If it nots then, the batteries voltage is dropping while charging and when it gets to 0 it will blow up. (This is what I was told by most people on modretro.)

That doesn't make sense to me. They make a bunch of handheld systems like the DS that charge while being played.

Bold- that's amps, not volts.

Underlined- That is only if you are using a lithium battery, and further, that is one function of the protection circuit, to keep the voltage from getting too low. Don't reference someone and leave out half of what they said, then they look just as bad as you do.

So will portable dvd player batteries work with the play/charge problem like the polaroid bt41 batteries and if not could you hook up a switch for the power on the chip that goes to the batteries to turn off the voltage to the screen and psone and connect a 9v charger to the + and - spot on the chip for the charger and have it spit so it goes to a voltage regulator and drops the volts to 7.5v going to the screen and the psone if the chip on the batteries its self wont work? I wont that notch back.
