iPod question

Post by nic8082242 »

I'm getting an iPhone next week, and was going to trade a friend my old phone for his 80GB iPod classic, only problem is that he says it will only sync a few songs at a time, I'm gonna borrow it this weekend and se what I can do to fix that. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Could just be his computer. Or faulty version of itunes.

There are also thirdparty programs that will do sycning music for you. That could be a way to fix it too.

Definitely do a hard reset and firmware update when you get it.

Like Hotdog said, chances are it's his computer that's messed up.

Yup. iTunes should let you update the software. (It always nags me to update my Nano 2G...)

You can reboot it by holding a couple buttons after toggling the "Hold" slider:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Or youc an completely reset it to factory defaults from within iTunes.

That's what started happening right before the HD died on my 4th gen. Hopefully its just his computer, like others have said.

I think they're just regular 1.8" hard drives. :?

Try resetting it to factory through iTunes first. With any luck it's some kind of software glitch.
