I just purchased a Hava Platinum for recording Xbox 360 video. I didn't realize that I needed a double female connector so I don't have one right now. Radio Shack didn't have anything in store so I was wondering if I could just cut and connect the wires with a butt connector or maybe solder. I ordered the 3 connector double female, just wondering if it is possible.

Re: Splicing component cables
Yes, you can just cut and splice them. Butt or bullet connectors would work very well, and look neat. There are also regular crimp-on barrel connectors. They're usually next to the butt/bullet/ring crimping connectors.
Be sure to splice each ground AS WELL AS each signal wire.
