Resistor Question
This is probably a stupid question, but I've never worked with resistors before. Does it matter which end of the resistor is soldered to the connections on my stepdown regulator? I cant go by the diagrams here becaus I'm using a 1.8k resistor instead of a 2k. The diagram for the 2k shows the end with the colors(red, black, red) going directly into the regulator, and the other end with yellow going onto the capacitor. The colors of my resistors are as folows: brown, blue, red & silver. Any help would be greatly appricated

No? I always seen from diagrams that they are not specifically labeled on each end with negative or positive.
Capacitors, yes.

No. Resistors don't have polarity, it can go either way. Some capacitors have polarity, many don't.
Go by the diagrams, you'll do fine.

Pro tip: If you don't have the exact value resistor you need, you can wire them in series to add their voltages.

Lol, think LOB had a brainfart there, add their resistances. Also, do them in parallel, and ummm... forget the exact thing, but it gets smaller.
Like, 2 100 ohms in parallel = 50 ohms. Don't remember formula. Oh well. lol.

Total R for resistors in series = R1 + T2 ... + Rx
Total R for resistors in parrallel is the inverse of 1/R1 + 1/R2 ... + 1/Rx
