PS2p Worklog {Teamxiyo} Lrg pics

Post by Teamxiyo »

Okay so the fun begins, this is my first portable, a ps2p (Yes i like a challenge) anyways here the parts I got so far.

Curtis Portable DVD player (Model 8433)
-Video in
-2 headphone jacks
-8" Screen

Ps2 slim (70011)

and a ton of parts from various projects. the pics are taking with my iphone so they are not the best in close shots

anyway after tearing apart the dvd player

i got it running using the ac power adapter :p and the controller wires as you can see running out the bottom left corner of the ps2 are ready and labeled

rofl i need to clean

Image

so here i ran into the first problem, the ps2 did not recognize the memory cards...
heres a pic of the 2 memory sticks im embeding into the console (ps2 and ps1 cards)

Then i figured it might be the wires are too long...so i shrunk the wires down to a cm and IT WORKS!

well thats it for now, trying to tackle an issue if you guys can help me out here it is posted earlier

well now we have a somewhat view of the thickness of the ps2p, looks a bit bulkier then i hoped, since theirs ps2 board and the lcd board. the second pic shows a smaller screen, this is becasue i though of maybe using the smaller screen and the button would be on the sides.

But how can i say no to this beautiful 8.5" screen :P

Image

dont mind this crappy concept pick but i have it in my head to work from so i didnt need one, but for the folks here ive poster a cheesy picture of what it should look like

well thats all the updates for now, im at the point where im really lazy to go further becuase i hate even thinking of how to stretch out the ps2 controller on this beast. once i get past that ill keep working and keep you all posted.

well right now im kinda stuck with the whole battery/ac power. Im thinking 8 3000mah AA batteries, the dvd player requires about 1amp and ps2 2 amps so i might get about an hour runtime which is fine. If anyone has any suggestions please add. And im staying away from the lithiums for this project.
