GCp worklog
ok well after getting into the whole hacking seen and putting homebrew on my wii and what-not i found that portable hacking was quite interesting. so i'm going to be making a portable gamecube out a a few that i have lieing around.
i have two gamecubes (DOL-101 and DOL-001) both are ntsc with no mod chip. i have a 5.4 intec screen that has S-video, AV IN, AV out and what ever the ones with the red, yellow, and white wires go to XD.
i also took apart a gameboy player and am trying to use that as well.
can't take any pictures as my camera is broken but as soon as i get a new one i will
still need to get:
-case
-batteries
-an extra gamecube controller
-maybe a modchip?
edit:
would this battery work ? http://cgi.ebay.com/IHS21-CCTV-12V-RECH ... 286.c0.m14" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: GCp worklog
why not use your wii? It's much better for a gamecube portable...
That battery looks a little big (not sure about that) and is a little underpowered. Shoot for something near the 3000mAh range.
Other than that the voltage is right

i don't want to take the risk of messing up my wii. I would rather mess something up that is easy to get and cheap.hackmodford wrote:why not use your wii? It's much better for a gamecube portable...

Re: GCp worklog
probaly the worst screens for portable making lol
Re: GCp worklog
If you need a battery, go for: 6500 mAH Li-Ion. It includes a charger too, and it's only $36 shipped.

Re: GCp worklog
thats pretty cheap
think i saw that while i was lookin before
well since i have no good use for the intec screen shell i got i thought "why not make this a Gamecube Laptop?" the reason being that were the xbox logo on the inside is supposed to go fits the top of the Gamecubes disc drive perfectly almost! heres a pic
http://img42.yfrog.com/i/dsc01087d.jpg/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
so i started to cut holes for the controler port but haven't done the screen yet, still trying to find the biggest one i can that works with the gamecube

You should buy a modchip.

Re: GCp worklog
I know that. But still, how is it even relevant? It just kind of came out of thin air.
