snes mini won't turn on:(

Post by mako321 »

first of all, I have a snes mini that I'm trying to run off of batteries. I relocated the cart slot and it worked perfectly, but then I removed the regulator. I put on a different one, thinking that it would work from my 7.4 v battery. it wouldn't start. Then, I tried piggybacking 3 of them and I got video but no audio. Them=n I tried 5, but it just overheated too quickly and still had no ausio. Why isn't it working? I now have 1 regulator on with some nice cable(not like what I had before) but it's not turning on. All that happens is that I hear a bit of static buzz noise stuff, indicating that the tv is receiving something, but not much.and that's from the 10v ac adapter that came with the snes. with 7v, nothing happens. Can anybody help? I can get pics up later :(

First, this is a little bit confusing

second, you don't just randomly hook up a regulator and think it will replace the other one

Third, why would you hook up 4 more regulators together because the first one didn't work. you should have calculated what regulator you needed not randomly put them on and expect it to work.

Fourth, is this hooked up to a portable screen? If it is that static noise is voltage not getting to where it needs to go.

Put +5 volts to the 7.5 volt pin on the mini SNES. It's a weird little thing, but it will fix at the very least the no sound issue.

firstly, piggybacking the chips can increase the Ampage of the regulator, just in case that was the problem(Ishould try that 1 more time though)

that would fix the no sound? hope that works :D

Yeah, like, the two outside pins of the old linear regulator on the board.
