Everything in moderation is fine, so long as you're having a good time but the addiction factor should always be acknowledged

It may be a good laugh every now and again but be careful, addiction sucks big time avoid at all costs

You wouldn't be alive, that's what!

But seriously, drugs are bad. Don't say they're "fine" in any amount.

I find that Death is fine in moderation as well  .
Sometimes, life isn't fair, but you just have to work around it.

"Drugs" is too broad of a term to lump in to two of the most basic categories imaginable.

Don't be bashing things you don't know anything about. Would you say Antihistamine is bad? How about Epinephrine? MDMA? All of these are legitimate drugs that are beneficial to your health. Just like you can't say "anything is fine in moderation", you can't just say "all drugs are bad".

"You can try anything once."

Shhhh. I'm proving a point.

Haha, I could "correct" something, but I won't, because I want to hear what Mr. Iknoweverythingaboutdrugsdonotchallangemeh has to say about this matter.

ValiantVenality wrote:This is all by means serious, and I'd like to keep these as mature as possible. Today my friend decided to get Xanax from his mother because hes had very bad anxiety lately. He told me to try one. I asked him how does it feel and he couldn't explain it to me. So I took it and it was one of the best feelings of my life. All my cares just vanished. I wasn't nervous of getting caught in my class. I felt better overall as a person. The only problem is that I've heard that these pills are EXTREMELY addictive. I don't have a very addictive personality though. All together I've probably smoked a pack of cigarettes in my whole life. I've never had withdrawals or cravings for one. SO my dilemma is that do you think that I should continue to take them if I get a chance to? Or would there be any other alternatives to this? I know marijuana does most of this, but I hate the laziness and the giggles with weed. When I do it all it makes me want to do is go and do nothing. With Xanax it makes me feel great and I don't get the laziness like I do with weed. So should I continue to take it? Are there any alternatives to this? Thanks!

Xanax is a benzo. Benzos don't tend to be as addictive as they're said to be, but Xanax could be an exception. I really wouldn't know, as my only experience with the benzodiazepine category of drugs is with valium. I'll try not to spout too many "facts" that're completely uninformed.

As a "functioning" member of society, I can't condone the continued use of something that affected you that much. I had a similar reaction to opiates, and believe me, it's not as easy as you'd think to say "nah, I'll pass" when given the opportunity. You'll know you can control yourself, but that isn't necessarily true. One thing that aggravates me more than anything is the type of person that goes around saying "I know my body. I won't get addicted. I'm stronger than that."

As a self-proclaimed "druggie", though, I can't say they're nothing but trouble, because when used in moderation, some can help you. It's just that the line between using drugs to help yourself and using drugs recreationally is extremely thin and is crossed the minute you try it a second time.

My suggestion? Make yourself nauseous if you ever decide to do it again. You'll associate the drug with the god-awful sensation of nausea and probably won't touch the stuff after that.

I didn't read this thread, but I can guarantee you it's full of nothing but "NOOO DON'T DO IT DRUGS R BADDDD". I can almost guarantee you that anyone that says otherwise will have their posts removed. Don't look for advice like this on a board that abides by the law. Your best bet would be a drug discussion forum.

If you liked it then you should try Vicodin and Oxycodone/Oxycontin.

At first I saw this and said RIGHT ON! But maybe it was a bit harsh. Either way Bic is 100x more logical than this fool:

Sure, try some more random drugs. Coke is fun too, seriously, why not give that a shot? I mean, it's no more dangerous than Oxy really, Oxy just hasn't been outlawed yet.

Anyway...

And can you guys guess what they usually use for this disorder? Xanax. So technically I have been doing exactly what I should do.
No, you haven't. You've done what you WANT to do. And just like your MJ thread earlier this year, you're doing what YOU want and justifying it with your ADD.

Seriously, see your doctor. He's smarter than you.

Comparing a stimulant to an opiate isn't exactly fair. Opiates like vicodin and percocet tend to be much less dangerous in terms of physical health than stimulants. While I can't say all opiates are less dangerous, I can say the two more commonly-used ones are. At worst, they'd make you too sleepy to function, whereas an overdose on a stimulant can lead to several heart and circulatory system issues. A large part of my reasoning for this is the fact that nearly all opiates in pill form are mixed with a large amount of acetominophen to help prevent overdose(at around 4 grams of acetominophen, you'll get nauseous quickly.

I know that's not the point you're getting at, though. I agree that Harshboy is just being an idiot by suggesting OTHER drugs when that's not what this topic is about. He has a tendency to walk around flaunting his "druggie" status and encouraging people to sneak into their parents' medicine cabinets.

Please, by all means keep that attitude. However, if that's the case, don't take any sort of medication. Ever. Tylenol is just as much a "drug" as fentanyl. Also, be sure to get the paperwork done so that you can't be given painkillers in the hospital. Oh, and don't drink coffee or tea. God forbid you get caffeine, a stimulant, into your body.
