I just cant seem to get what color wires I should use for my n64 to make it portable. I'm also confused on where the specific wires go.......someone please help this pitiful noob. I do check google and try to learn about the wire coding but I just cant seem to find out what the hell kind of wires I need and where they go.

 The color of the wire does not matter.

If you want to do a good job and be able to tell what wire does what, use red for positive, black for negative, yellow for video if composite, red for right audio, white for left audio, and green or something else for data.

As for wire type-

For anything power, I use 22 AWG solid core.

For data, you don't need that big so to save space you can use computer ribbon cable or some nice 26-30 AWG.

Yes. The rubber around the wire is just for insulation, and it comes in different colors so you can keep things organized.
