Ok, I don't know if any of you have seen the last Screen Question that was locked, this may have been caused by the sticky's name which gives the info, so someone needs to change the topic name or start a new one titled "Screen FAQ" than everyone will know what to look at , and I'm not just talking about that section of the forum, I'm talking about every forum with questions that keep getting asked and they always do becuase the new members have no idea what to do on a forum and this might be thier first, so if this is not solved our forum may go down because of a lot of re-asked questions in re-started forums so maybe someone could write a program where the question is asked, and someone answers it or a program that could identify the words and spit out an answer, and if it doenst have an answer than it will say"I'm sorry I currently don't have that aswer I will send it to an Admin to be answered and you will recive a PM if this is a bad idea Lockage please

yeah, and we also already have a few stickied help topics and they ask the same questions that are answered in them.
You can't force somebody to read a sticky or use the search button.

lol, nice idea, but maybe we should have an annoying audio file that plays and types it self(incase they mute) the first 10 posts they make, it will say like" make sure you search for the question using the search button, and if it doesn't show up on the search, go to www.doomportables.org/ and if it is still not there than you may start a topic Thank you for reading this" that would be good to have only for the first 10

Oh God, no. unrequested sounds from a website needs to be outlawed, especially since there are still some that know a thing or 2 in this stuff.

well, I don't know I mean maybe we should just have a page that searches key words in portablesofdoom, any threads in the history of this forum, and any thing else i can't think of since my brain is shutting down for some rest

How about a huge sign when people register that says: "If you create a thread or post a question before using the search button and looking around doomportables.org, your account and IP will be banned immediatly!".

You know there is a nice compramise you can make to fit this problems. Disable their ablility to make a thread for first 5-10 posts. This way they cant did it and are forced to either use the search fuction or post the question is a thread pertaing to a simalar problem.

Somehow disable the ctrl+F search function, make them read a 10 page report on proper forum use, and test them. If they get 60% right, they're in. Otherwise...<drags finger over throat, makes gagging face>. Cant have the ctr+F search, otherwise they'll just search for the answers.

^Could do that in Flash or Javascript, that would keep the ctrl-f from working.
