Recently I have been looking at the pinouts for controller ports and noticed that there doesnt seem to be a set numbering scheme for them, they seemed to be randomly assigned by whoever makes the drawings. For instance, here:-

The NES pinout seems abit crazy to me and looks like it was just numbered to try and match the SNES pinout
I have often found that many ports are 'officially' numbered if you look very carefully at the plastic inside - its isnt always the case but I though it worth a look.
So what im hoping is if anyone with broken/damaged official controllers for the NES, SNES, N64 and GameCube wouldnt mind cracking open the controller plug and seeing if there are any tiny numbers molded into the plastic near the wires to denote the official nintendo pinout?
Perhaps someone with a NES console controller port could also take a look at the back to see if the pinout is labelled there? On PAL NES consoles there is a small circuit board directly behind the controller socket so it wouldnt be easy for me to find out
I did try opening an N64 controller by pressing in the tiny plastic clips but found it to be a nightmare and I cant see how I can do it without destroying the plug in the process, which considering its a fully working contrioller would be a shame, so thats why im asking here for anyone who perhaps already have some official broken controller cables (eg. from making a portable) and if so if they wouldnt mind breaking open the controller plug, and possibly even taking a close-up pic?
Please bear in mind any numbers may be very tiny and hidden and you might even need a magnifying glass to see them (If there even is any) Also, only official controllers will be any good as otherwise it wouldnt be the official pinout!
