Has anyone done it? Maybe you've got some tips for desoldering the connector on the motherboard? Desoldering braid and my desoldering iron aren't working that well. Maybe I need flux.
I'll post pics if I can successfully do it.

how did you keep the wires from breaking off of the solder pads? I haven't tried it yet, but that seems like it would be a problem.

Check all wires are soldered solid. Hot glue the wires after testing to make sure the system works ok.
