if your talking about an offical ps2 hdd you may want to consider selling it and just geting anouther hard drive the ps2 ones go for a pretty good price and regular 40gb hdds are not that much and it would be new

You can reformat by using an OS installer. Most of them have it built in. I usually use my old Windows 98 or 95 CDs, because it is quick and easy.

I use DiskDruid to reformat drives or DOS 9.0

i dont think the efforts worth it i bought a 200gb hard disc 2 weeks ago for AU$200 US$160 so i wouldnt bother

That's pretty over priced. In the US you can get a 200GB hdd for $100 :)

efforts? any drive he buys will have to be formated there is no extra effort though selling the ps2 drive is a beter idea the way I see it as I explaned before
