PS1 Screen Help..
Hey I just choped off the top part for my ps1 screen and I noticed that the screen now is a bit darker than I though it would be. Will the LED be enough to make it brither? Is there a way I can control the brightnes again with the buttons. I saw on this video, joedog choped the top part too and was still able to use the buttons. Here is the video.

... Because the transfromer on the top is what gives juice to the CCFL backlight...

Re: PS1 Screen Help..
Do the LED mod, your screen will draw less power, and will have a nice backlight again. Most people chop the transformer after, but there is nothing wrong with doing it before, you just have nothing to fall back on.

If I do the LED mod can I still use the buttons to change the brightness:

There is no easy way to do that, the buttons will still change the brightness, but barely visibly. Change the title of this thread and ask the experts.

What???? Is there a way I can change the brightness? If I put a 3 LED 18000mcd... What kind of resistor should I use?snowpenguin wrote:There is no easy way to do that, the buttons will still change the brightness, but barely visibly. Change the title of this thread and ask the experts.
