MUCH nicer. 8) That's actually coloring the plastic with a chemical that penetrates it, instead of just adding a layer of color on top.

Bic is right.

Here is a great guide for dying plastics. Has some nice pictures of what it can look like when done correctly.

Probably the best aspect is that you don't lose fine details in the plastic because it's not coating it - it's coloring it. It doesn't add appreciable thickness.

So Vinyl Dye still comes in a can? What about the dye that was used in this?

That's fabric dye. It will work but you'll have to simmer the parts in it like that person did, or else it might not penetrate. You can find it at Wal-Mart near the laundry detergent.

It will work, but they also painted the inside of the case with a few coats of Krylon Fusion to get the final color.

That's not "Old Mac Yellow", that's "nasty Simpsons yellow". :lol:
