Second SNES Question

Alright, I got the power switch and the reset buttons off, BUT...

There's this odd yellow thing under the power switch. Is that supposed to stay, for the portable, or should it come off.

It might be some type of coating. If so, then it can stay. If it is an actual component, it might be part of the switch.

I think it was something that was supposed to come off with the power switch. THe black part of the switch keeps falling, so I think that's what it was supposed to do. Either way, I think it's not supposed to be there for the portable, but I want to double check.

You coud just use solder to jump the spots were the go its smaller

He's saying that if you remove the parts, you can just make the connection between those holes with your solder. It's a much smaller connection.

Oh. But won't solder on the ground hurt the system?
