I got this blue ukulele a few weeks back and I wanted to personalize it. Took my trusty Sharpie to it, and this is what resulted!

Any acrylic/water-based finish won't affect the sharpie at all. It's also non-yellowing, so it will stay clear as it ages. If you use a brush-on, it looks kinda milky in the can, and as you lay it on, but it dries clear.
