WTB super metroid

Post by Michaelthurston »

I'm looking for a working copy of super metroid(North american), I have around $15 to spend.

That probably wont get me anywhere but I thought i would ask.

If anyone has/knows where i can get a copy for $15 shipped I'd be very grateful.

I also have a non-working copy that I'll throw in if you want it, I tired everything to get it going. Oh, and I use paypal only.

Thanks,

MT

Have you tried taking a pencil eraser and cleaning the connector on the cartridge?

I've done Everything to this cart

Stage one: Surface cleaner, Got most of the grime off [FAIL]
Stage two: Alcohol, Got the more ground in stuff off [FAIL]
Stage three: Light Sanding, There wasn't one thing left on the pins. [FAIL]
Stage four: Cart Baking(Bake the PCB to ensure all the contacts are fine, and to remove moisture), The cart was cleaner than All of my other SNES games! [FAIL]

Everything I've done so far has Been to no avail.

The cart puts out a black screen, sometimes its flickers sprites and pixels, but it never boots. Its not the SNES i have, its perfectly clean.

If that was my game, I'd use a bit of super-fine steel wool on the cart pins. Even in the blurry pics, it's easy to see that they're badly discolored.

I think I may have found the problem, When i sanded, the Traces got exposed a little bit, and i think a few of them are cut...That may be why, I'm going to reconnect them and try it again...

Yes! That was the problem! I have successfully fixed my copy of super metroid, This topic may be closed!

Thanks to Tibia I found the broken traces and reconnected them, If i hadn't used to steel wool on it i never would have found it out! Thanks!!
