haven't been on in a while. mah portable n64 is being put on hold til i can get a little extra money.

kinda new about building computers, and wanted to know if all of this would make a computer. i've worked with computers before, mainly ram and putting hard drives, so i'm only worried about the SATA drive cables, the power supply, and the processor. everything else i know will work.
also, would you recommend a better graphics card?

I saw a PSU, Motherboard, Ram, and a CPU so that's all I needed to see. Yes, it will work.

Oh, and unless that Motherboard, Hard Drive, or DVD Drive are OEM, they come with SATA cables. The Motherboard I bought came with enough cables to fill the whole board.

PS: You shouldn't be so cheap on the PSU. The PSU may seem like an unimportant component, but it is actually one of the most, if not the most, important of them all. If the PSU fails, it could take everything with it in one massive shock.

is the processor compatible with the motherboard? this is the no. 1 problem i'm worried about.

Yes, That motherboard supports all AM2/AM2+/AM3 CPU's.

They are not Molex, but a PSU usually includes a SATA Power plug these days.

EDIT: That cheap 480W one you linked to has one SATA Power connector, so you will need to purchase a Molex to SATA Power adapter for the DVD Drive.

Don't cheap out on the PSU; it's the most vital part of the computer. If it blows there's a good chance it will take out other vital components with it. Plus that one has less than 20 amps on the +12v rail; not good if you want to add additional hard drives or a better video card sometime down the road.

Don't worry about buying SATA cables; if the drives don't come with any, then the motherboard will. (I bought a Gigabyte board and it came with 3 or 4.)

That monitor's kinda meh. 19" no-name? 1440x900 max res? 700:1 contrast ratio?? Do your eyes a favor and spend a little more on a nicer monitor. What are you using now? Can you reuse it, or does it belong to someone else? (If the only 'problem' is that it's a CRT, keep it. CRTs still have a nicer picture than LCDs.)

Don't waste your time on that old 160 gig HD, that might get a little tight later on, especially if you plan on playing games. A 1 TB drive gives you much more storage space for your money:

You're not going to get spectacular gaming out of a 9400 GT.
