Best Anti-virus
I'm looking for the best anti-virus, need something that's not gonna be a memory hog. system specs are
Windows XP Home Edition SP3
Intel Celeron 2.20 Ghz
2.00 GB RAM
freeware or shareware is okay

If you're looking for a free antivirus program, AVG's pretty good.

I've used Avast and AVG. Currently using Avast, but you can't go wrong with either one and (best of all) they are free!

i used avg, then switched to avast. Avast detected twice as much crap, after a scan with avg.

i used norton anti virus.
then my computer got infected by tons of malware. nothing worked. my desktop displayed "your privacy is in danger" and a bunch of programs were begging me to buy their software. ie didn't work, and norton detected nothing. i got malwarebyte's anti-malware and it fixed everything. i trust anti-malware.

AVG and Avira are pretty good. I'm probably gonna give something new a shot when I switch to Windows 7 tomorrow though.

Using ESET NOD32 Antivirus under Windows 7. Works great.
