How do you make a system where the site uses the same accounts as the forums (like the new benheck.com showcase)?

One that I know of is VBDrupal.

Code the new system to read its usernames from the phpbb database.

(The showcase was built from scratch; it's not a premade CMS kit.)

Never mind, I'm going to use Drupal with SMFbridge.
