Which cellphone do you prefer?

The E71x is pretty nice if you are a big texter. I just sent my 500th text for the day and I have sent I think up to like 700 or 800 in a day before. Its cheap and small and durable (its has a full metal body).

Not spending tons of money when it's quicker and easier to text someone?

Let's use pay-as-you-go rates for simplicity. Sure, you can get a texting plan, and a phone plan, but we'll consider those irrelevant right now.

Virgin Mobile's rates:

One text: 15 cents
One minute of calling: 30 cents

One text message can convey at most three sentences. One minute can convey an entire conversation. Hell, I make plenty of one minute or less phone calls.

Average talking speed: 130 words per minute.
Text Messages: 160 characters.

Assuming you only use two letter words ( Why would this not surprise me), then text messages come out on top. Otherwise...

I text people on the same network, half rates.
I top my phone up with a tenner, 300 free texts for the month.
With all packages on top, texting is definitely a lot cheaper.
