I am shipping number one to Canada already. If you want in, just let me know, and I will insert you in with the other Canadians.DNT 2.5 wrote:Should I start one, will we get enough users?

No, not now, I don't have enough money at the moment. Parents aren't happy with menevermind1534 wrote:I am shipping number one to Canada already. If you want in, just let me know, and I will insert you in with the other Canadians.DNT 2.5 wrote:Should I start one, will we get enough users?

Re: TGIMBOEJ Canada
Problem is, most TGIMBOEJ boxes that travel from the states to canada, can be expensive. Due to border fees, and increased shipping prices.
Therefore, a box that just travels around Canada, and doesn't leave the border, would be cheaper. Good thinking! I'd probably be "in".

Re: TGIMBOEJ Canada
I'm shipping TGIMBOEJ #1 to Canada, and we've got three Canadians in on it. Since it would be a "Gift" and of low value (Under $70), there would be no cross-border customs fees. I'm willing to insert any Canadians who are interested in #1 in the middle of the list, with all of the other Canadians. Shipping it back to the US should be fairly inexpensive, too.HotDog-Cart wrote:Problem is, most TGIMBOEJ boxes that travel from the states to canada, can be expensive. Re: TGIMBOEJ Canada
Unfortunatly, your incorrect. It would be awesome if you were correct though. No matter what, there will be customs charges. The charges will most likely be just the tax of the approx. value. Trust me on this. I order items from ThinkGeek all the time, and they specially mark them as "Promotional" or "Low Value", or "Gift", and I still get taxed/charged for customs. I know some customs agents, and they are entitled to tax it no matter what. I've even phoned UPS to verify, and was just told the same thing as Im saying to you. You will be taxed/charged for customs, even if the package is marked as "Promotional", "Gift", or "Low Value".
Heck, I bought a nice RC helicopter from think geek and some Night Vision Goggles, and was just charged $17 CAD for customs fees, about 8 hours ago when UPS came to my door, even though the box was marked as "Gift".
Sorry.

Re: TGIMBOEJ Canada
No, I ship to "friends" in Canada a lot. The import limit (before you're taxed), if the item is not a gift, is $20. If it is a "Gift," the limit is $70. I ship to other countries nearly every day, and have never had anybody that I shipped to charged any fees by their government.HotDog-Cart wrote:Unfortunatly, your incorrect. I know plenty about shipping, and you can't argue with that. I have literally shipped hundreds of packages out of the country, probably about 20 to Canada. The guy I ship most of the stuff to Canada to, the first time had to pay a fee (10), because I put the value at $120.
As long as I mark it as "gift" and put the value at $15, we'll be good, no matter what.
I've never been charged any fees by customs for items that I have received from other countries, either (they always come marked as "gift" with a low value assessed to them.

Re: TGIMBOEJ Canada
It must seem that UPS was bs'ing me then. Considering, every package I've sent and receieved from them had a customs tax. Heck, I've received like $5 headphones, and got charged like $8 for the customs fee.
****ing UPS.
Every item I've ordered has been marked gift, and has been under $70 and I still get taxed.
EDIT: Maybe it could be because, I think "thinkgeek" uses overnight UPS shipping, so maybe theres different rules for that. I know DHL will charge you for tax, no matter what you put on. Heck, you could ship an empty box, and they'll tax you on it.

Re: TGIMBOEJ Canada
If you ship via UPS to another country, you get ripped off. They send you a bill later. Go with USPS whenever possible.

Re: TGIMBOEJ Canada
Okay, here's the ACTUAL customs fees, since I order stuff from the states all the time AND HAVE ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO LOOK IT UP INSTEAD OF GUESSING.
Marked as anything, valued at under $20: No customs fees.
Marked as a gift, valued at under $60: No customs fees.
Marked as a gift, over $60: Customs fees apply.
UPS always screws me over with ridiculous COD fees. I much prefer USPS and Canada Post.

Ok, so it's $60, not 70. I looked it up in the past, and decided that $20 and "gift" was the best combination for shipping to most countries.Kurt_ wrote:Okay, here's the ACTUAL customs fees, since I order stuff from the states all the time AND HAVE ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO LOOK IT UP INSTEAD OF GUESSING.
