Hey guys. I do believe I am underpowering the screen. I got it to display video and audio, except the video looks like its in like 16bit color. Could be a problem with the screen or not enough power. Any suggestions? Im just glad to get this working.
Hey guys. The other day I opened up my inter-act ps1 screen, and now I have an issue.
I lost the original power adapter and now am using a makeshift 12v 500ma plug in.
This problem COULD be caused by this power adapter, which means my screen will most likely need a power adapter with more ma.
Heres my issue.
When plugged into the wall and powersource, I get NO video or sound from my screen. All I get is some buzzing noise from the speakers. (EDIT: I also found out: I can turn the buzzing sound up or down with the volume control, and I CAN turn the screens brightness up or down.)
When I opened it up the other day, there was a peice of metal that was soldered to the board on one end, and was touching/beside a 7805/7808 regular on the other end. I accidentally broke this peice of metal off. Could that be the cause of this problem? If so, I'll just solder it back on.

So, like even though Im not getting video or sound, Im still able to turn the volume of the buzzing sound up or down, and Im able to turn the brightness up or down on the screen. (If I turn the brightness up, the black screen goes white. If I turn it down, it goes more black. But there is no video. lol)
Theres also two pentometers, so I'll try playing around with them.
EDIT: I could be underpowering it, as 500ma does not seem like a high enough ammount to make this work. Yet, I don't know how much ma this thing needs. Is there anyway I could find out with a multimeter or something?
Ohm's Law says that Current = Voltage / Resistance. You should be able to find how many mA it needs from that.
Get a better power supply (an old computer PSU can provide usualy 2-4 amps on the 12v line), and try again. If it still doesn't work, I'd suggest reconnecting that piece of metal.
