Toshiba Satellite T1850c battery
I have a very old Toshiba Satellite T1850c that uses Ni-Cad batteries. I have a hardly used one that can hold quite a charge, but I am longing for a Li-ion battery to give a lot of extra juice. Can anyone here help me choose one and get it hooked up? (It is a 9-volt battery, if that helps)

Ni-Cd cells are 1.2v a piece, Li-ion cells are 3.7v each.
By wiring three 18650 cells in series, you'll get 11.1v.
You need to regulate it down to 9 volts (are you sure it's 9 volts?)
I would try to find an adjustable switching regulator on TI's site. If all else fails you can use a linear LM350 adustable regulator, but just like a 7805 it will get extremely hot and require a hgue heatsink. They are only about 50-60% efficient at most, also. Switching regulators are upwards of 80-90% efficient.
