GP2x Wiz vs Dingoo

This is a battle of epic (or not so epic) perportions! (And as much as I want a pandora, they are only making small batches.

Hey guys. Im currently debating on which handheld to buy.

They both look very similar to each other too.

Looking at spec alone, it would be a smart choice to go with the GP2X Wiz. Yet, from videos I've watched on youtube, even though the wiz has a 3D chip games seem to run a lot slower on it, compared to the Dingoo. Like, Fzero on the dingoo is full speed, yet on the wiz its slower. (Or atleast it was when I watched the video.). Heres my dilemma. If I go with the Dingoo, I risk limited support of emulators and such in the future, even though games run fullspeed now. If I go with the wiz, even though the games are slower right now, they could become full speed in the future and the wiz could be able to support much more emulators in the future due to its faster/better hardware than the Dingoo's.

So in a nutshell its: Dingoo = Better emulators right now, but hardware isnt as good as wiz.
Wiz = Slower emulation right now, but has better hardware which means more support for programs in the future. (Such as the PSX emulator!)

Main Question: What are you guys' opinions? Should I get the Dingoo? Or maybe the wiz? Or should I wait?

Sounds like the GP32X is a lot more expandable with software, and greater battery life, too. It can play many more types of systems, but has poor video format support.

The Dingoo has a slower processor and less RAM, but 4x as much internal memory, and supports lots more types of video. It's cheaper, but can only play a few game systems.

I dunno, what do you think? I'd get a GP32X.

With linux on the Dingoo I believe it can do anything that the Wiz can (unless the Wiz can run N64?). Also with the Dingoo being less than half the cost of the Wiz I think that makes the Dingoo the clear winner.

I could easily purchase the wiz, and see if I like it. If I don't, sell it and then buy the dingoo.

Might as well put the pandora on there, it's another one of those emulator machine things. I'd get a wiz, but palmer recommended not to.

I'm personally looking forward to the Pandora. Its should be more powerful then either the Wiz or Dingoo. I'm looking for something to use as a MID so that is my best bet. I want to be able to run a full version of linux on portable, and the Pandora seems to be the only one out there that will at a decent price point.

PS By full Linux I mean an actual distoro (Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.)

I was on the first preorder a year ago. Might as well just forget about it being a viable option.

I hope not, but I have to agree that there is a lot promised and they keep falling behind. ATM I am looking at the new Asus T91. Its a netbook tablet, which is something I wouldn't mind getting. ITs also only $500.
