Best NOAC + Pocket TV?

Alright, so I'm having a hell of a time with my NES mobo. I'm thinking of buying a NOAC to use instead for a portable (which I FINALLY get to start after I get paid this Friday!) because I want to use a pocket TV screen and the body of the portable would be way too big to have such a small screen. Also the solid cart slot is a plus. I'm not sure if a NOAC would be compatible with a pocket TV, though, so that's what I want to ask about too.

I think after I build this one I'm going to use a PSOne screen with my original NES mobo and integrate my game genie into that. So, that being said, I have to ask the question that's already been asked a million times I'm sure: Which is the smallest and best NOAC to use? I'm looking at buying a retro entertainment console from ebay (or from stoneagegamer if they come back in stock there). Also, are all NOACs compatible with original NES controllers? I want to use an advantage controller on my portable. Thanks for reading, hope to get a good answer.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong; from what I've read on this forum, I believe that the best NOAC over all is the Super Joy III. It's certainly small. Pretty sure it's not "compatible" with original NES controllers unless you connect the traces yourself. You can get them for cheap on Amazon.

Go with a Yobo. Relatively small, has the 72 pin cart slot, and has the correct NES controller connectors. I'm unsure of the power draw but I know it's pretty low.

The sj3 is just about the worst noac. It is very dated has sound issues, and it has sucky compatability. Go with a yobo or Retro entertainment system.

I can cut off most of the two sides of the board where the ground is, right? Another reason I'm concerned with using the original NES is battery life. I'm not really sure about the mA rating of an NES versus a NOAC. Anyone know?

Not sure officially, but it's in the 350-500mAh range.

With nothing attached, the NES consumes about 350 mA of power per hour. If you figure an average of a bout 250 mA consumed by a white LED-modified TV, plus another 75-100mA that will be sonsumed by wiring and controllers, it addus up to a grand total of around 700 mA for a portable.

Ben said that his NOAC drew 50mA, which is next to nothing, and his was an old one. They've probably gotten even more efficient since.

The reason I asked is because I saw an MS Paint do-up of all that can be dremeled off scribbled over with the paintbrush tool. From what I remember, once you take the RF box off you can chop off almost anything that's silver around the edge of the board. Is there anything else that can go? I've got the expansion port off but I have to wait until I get a 40w iron to be able to take out the RF box.

...I'm getting ahead of myself, sorry. I need to make up my mind and NOT start two first projects at once. If I can make the original board small enough I'm going to use it with the pocket TV I think.

How about I show you a pic instead of trying to explain.

Here is my nes and what I have cut off so far. in some places the grounds need to be reconnected with each other, but is as simple as can be.
