Re: Ribbon cable
This really doesn't deserve its own topic, and normal ribbon cable from computers will do.

Re: Ribbon cable
I desperately hate backseat modding, but you do what you have to. There isn't anything horribly wrong with this having it's own topic, other than the fact that it's been brought up 1000's of times. And, if questions go unanswered for that long, PM the answer to the thread creator so we don't get big bumps like this.snowpenguin wrote:This really doesn't deserve its own topic, and normal ribbon cable from computers will do.

It's barely been two weeks since the topic was created..
@TC: Ribbon cable for a PC works well. If you go to your local computer supply store, (not bestbuy or anything) and ask them if they have extra, usually they have loads of it for cheap/free.

Re: Ribbon cable
eurrdrue, I seem to have angered several members yesterday. I wasn't in a super mood, and I see now it wasn't my place to play mod, on any threads. For that I am sorry.

Re: Ribbon cable
Especially the old floppy and 40 lead IDE cables. They're both horribly outdated (the new 80 wire IDE ribbon cables allow faster transfers with less interference), so nobody wants them, so they'll be more willing to give some to you.ghosstt wrote:@TC: Ribbon cable for a PC works well. Re: Ribbon cable
I used to PAY for it so I'd get the same kind every time, but over time I've realized anything you can get for free is good enough for modding. If you can't get it for free, then go for the longest rainbow colored cable you can get! It makes it easy!

Re: Ribbon cable
Best cable I find for general modding work is from old console controller cables; I also get reels of very flexible wire from Maplin. For anything electrical, like power lines and also relocating LED's and capacitors, 3 amp wires.

Re: Ribbon cable
Get yourself a cheap unbraided parallel cable.
Also go to Radioshack and get some 30gauge solid wirewrapping wire.
